3rd Training Day
COST CA20120 - INTERACT 3rd Training Day: State of the art radio channel sounding and data analysis
September 11th, 2023
Poznan, Poland
Scope
The tutorial will give an overview of the state-of-the-art mobile radio channel sounding and data analysis. It will cover the following topics:
- The fundamentals of propagation This includes propagation mechanisms and their impact on CW and wideband signals, and polarization.
- The design of channel sounders: an overview of channel sounder requirements and channel sounder techniques, waveforms: narrow pulse vs pulse compression techniques (chirp and PRBS), in addition to multi-dimensional and multi-band channel sounding in the high frequency bands for 5G and 6G.
- Channel sounder calibration, validation, and parameter estimation.
- Channel models including channel parameters such as rms and angular delay spreads.
- Measurements examples of directional and omni-directional and estimation of channel parameters such as path loss in indoor and outdoor scenarios, clutter loss, building entry loss and impact of precipitation.
- An overview of the requirements for channel models for 5G and 6G and their parametrization.
Targeted Audience
Ph.D. Students, but open to the research community in general.
Speakers
Sana Salous, Durham University, United Kingdom
Diego Dupleich, TU Illmenau, Germany
General Programme
The tutorial will be divided into two sessions each for approximately 90 minutes with half an hour break.
